At the Bailey and Oliver law firm, our focus is on prevention. We believe our work not only helps unfortunate people who have been injured to lead a more normal life, but by our efforts, we hope we can protect others and prevent them from being injured.

I have been writing about hospital acquired infections, and ways to prevent these horrible infections before they happen. This morning, in Medical News Today, I found an exciting article about the efforts Rome Memorial Hospital is using to kill germs on worker’s hands and hospital surfaces between cleanings, preventing a hospital acquired infection.

According to Infection Prevention Director LeAnna Grace, the hospital conducted a 12 month research study of Germ Pro’s new surface disinfectant and hand sanitizing lotion to evaluate how well they worked. The results were amazing!

The Hospital already had an excellent record of protecting its patients from hospital acquired infections through the use of the infection control guidelines developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Grace stated, “Use of Germ Pro in combination with our ongoing infection prevention strategies, reduced two of the more dangerous infections—methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile (C. diff) by more than 50%.”

According to Germ Pro President, Wayne Albright, Germ Pro’s Hand Sanitizing Lotion and Surface Disinfectant were proven effective by laboratory testing as required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

If your hospital or nursing home is not using these new products, you have to ask yourself why?
